In this video, Remi Berube, DD, explains what to expect on treatment day for implant-supported dentures and how the timeline differs when choosing a fully fixed roundhouse solution.
When you come in for implant-supported dentures, we begin by reviewing your treatment plan and confirming how many implants you need and where they’ll be placed. On the day of treatment, the implants are usually placed in the morning. It generally takes a couple of hours.
Your denture is already prefabricated before the appointment. Once the implants are in, we fit the denture over them using retention devices that allow it to snap on and off. From start to finish, the entire visit typically takes no more than four hours. After that, you’re able to go home. We’ll see you for follow-ups to check healing, confirm implant stability, and monitor bone density.
When you choose a Fix-on-Six, the process involves more appointments. We usually begin by giving you a removable denture that attaches to temporary retention devices. You wear that for a few weeks while the tissues heal and while we fabricate your final roundhouse bridge.
The fully fixed roundhouse is either cemented onto the implants or attached with an extremely tight retention system. You cannot remove it at home, but we can remove it in the office for maintenance.
The fixed roundhouse requires more time and more appointments. Generally, you start with the provisional denture for about a month, and then, after the gums settle and everything fits properly, we convert you to the full roundhouse in the next month or two.

A direct question like “Does Medicaid cover dentures?” should come with a direct answer. For eligible adult members in Montana, the answer is yes in many cases. Still, the details matter. Coverage can depend [...]
At some point in your denture journey, the question may come up plainly: How long are dentures supposed to hurt? New dentures can bring a period of adjustment as your mouth learns how to speak, chew, and rest with a new set of teeth. Some tenderness can be part of that process, especially in the beginning. Even so, discomfort [...]
When we talk about the best dental implant options in 2026, the answer depends on what today’s treatment options make possible. For many years, dental implants came with a long list of considerations. Patients had to think about bone health, surgical steps, healing time, overall health, and cost before they could feel ready to move forward. Those concerns still [...]

When several teeth are loose, badly broken, or too worn down to repair, we may recommend removing them to create a better foundation for a denture. Removing those teeth can help prepare the gums for a denture [...]
