Emergency Dentistry Options

Learn how emergency dental visits are handled and what patients can expect when pain or infection needs prompt attention.

We do provide emergency dental care. The most common issue we see is an abscessed tooth, which is an infection in the bone. Patients usually come in with pain, swelling, or redness.

When you arrive, I’ll evaluate the area, usually with a scan, to see exactly what’s going on. From there, we either start with antibiotics and pain medication or, if appropriate, remove the tooth the same day. The decision depends on your comfort level, your anxiety, and the severity of the infection.

We handle a lot of extractions and are very comfortable managing these situations. The goal is always to address the pain, treat the infection, and solve the problem as efficiently as possible.

If you or someone you love is experiencing a dental emergency, contact Big Sky Dentures & Implants in Missoula, MT, right away so we can help relieve your pain and get you back to your life.

Coverage can depend [...]

Do Dentures Hurt? How To Know When Discomfort Needs a Closer Look

At some point in your denture journey, the question may come up plainly: How long are dentures supposed to hurt? New dentures can bring a period of adjustment as your mouth learns how to speak, chew, and rest with a new set of teeth. Some tenderness can be part of that process, especially in the beginning. Even so, discomfort [...]
